Still Time to Book Summer Wedding Flowers

Still Time to Book Summer Wedding Flowers

Still Need Wedding Flowers This Summer? It’s Not Too Late to Book With Specialty Floral Design!

If you’re planning a wedding for this summer and starting to panic about flowers—take a deep breath. It’s not too late!

At Specialty Floral Design in Olympia, WA, we still have a few summer dates open for weddings, and we’d love to help bring your vision to life—whether you’re planning an intimate elopement, a backyard celebration, or a last-minute full-service event. You don’t have to miss out on beautiful wedding flowers just because you’re planning on a shorter timeline.

We know how overwhelming it can feel to reach out last-minute. So let’s walk through the most common questions couples ask when booking wedding flowers with just a few weeks to go—and how we make the process stress-free, creative, and beautiful.

1. Is It Even Possible to Get Wedding Flowers This Late?

Absolutely. We’ve designed floral arrangements for many last-minute weddings, and it’s entirely possible to get beautiful, customized flowers—even on a tight timeline.

That said, the more flexibility you can offer, the smoother the process will be. For example, if your heart is set on a very specific flower like lilies, which needs extra time to open, we’ll be transparent with you if it’s not feasible. We always try our best to source your preferred flowers, but the timeline (and Mother Nature!) may influence what’s possible.

Most couples today are more focused on getting the right color palette rather than a specific flower type—and we’re experts at choosing the best blooms to match your style and vibe, no matter the season.

2. Will I Be Stuck With Leftovers or Limited Options?

Not at all. We never use leftover flowers.

All of our flowers come fresh from our wholesale partners, and we’re able to get daily shipments from their fully stocked coolers. This allows us to design arrangements just for you—nothing reused, nothing second-hand. Each wedding we design is completely unique and tailored to your specific needs, no matter how last-minute it may be.

3. How Fast Can I Get a Quote and Book?

The turnaround time depends a bit on your wedding date. If your wedding is coming up quickly—say, in the next few weeks—I’ll prioritize your quote and usually send it out the very next day. For weddings that are a month away, I typically get proposals out within two business days.

For example, I recently worked with a bride getting married the first week of July. Since time was short, I had her quote ready immediately. I like to give my wholesalers plenty of time to prepare the order—and I also require full payment before flowers are ordered—so we stay on schedule and avoid last-minute stress.

4. Do I Need to Have Everything Figured Out—Colors, Flower Types, Inspiration?

Not at all!

Most couples come to me without knowing flower names or what's in season. That’s okay—knowing flowers is my job. All you really need to know before our consultation is your wedding date, venue, and preferred color palette.

The venue matters because every space has different needs. A large barn might require grander installations than an intimate garden setting. Once we know where the celebration is taking place, I’ll guide you on what works best in that space. We’ll also discuss your must-haves, style preferences, and any flowers or colors you definitely don’t want.

Whether you bring a full Pinterest board or just a few notes scribbled on a napkin, I’ll help you shape your ideas into a floral plan you’ll love.

5. What If I Just Need a Bouquet, Boutonniere, and a Few Table Flowers?

That’s perfectly fine!

At Specialty Floral Design, we don’t require minimum orders or make you choose from pre-made packages. I believe every couple is different—some want full installations, and others only need a few meaningful pieces. No matter what your needs are, I’m happy to help and create something beautiful.

Whether you need just a bridal bouquet and boutonniere or a few sweet arrangements for your dinner table, I’m here for you.

6. What’s the Best Way to Contact You for a Last-Minute Booking?

The best and fastest way to get started is by phone or email.

While we love connecting with couples on social media, I don’t recommend sending a DM as your first point of contact—especially during the busy wedding season. Some messages get hidden or filtered due to privacy settings, and I’d hate to miss yours. A quick phone call or email is the most reliable way to reach me directly so we can get the ball rolling quickly.

7. Do You Charge a Rush Fee or Have Special Policies for Short-Notice Weddings?

There are no extra rush fees for last-minute weddings, as long as you’re open and flexible. The key to success with a shorter planning window is communication and realism.

For example, I’ll always be transparent about what I can or can’t source on a tight timeline. Certain blooms take time to open, and some colors or varieties may vary slightly due to what’s available that week. But I’ll always offer alternative suggestions that keep your overall look, mood, and color story intact.

Mother Nature plays a big role in what’s available and how flowers behave, and she always has the final say! That’s why I won’t promise something I know I can’t deliver. My goal is to make sure you have a beautiful wedding and a positive experience from start to finish.

So, What’s the Booking Process Like?

Once I receive your inquiry, I’ll respond within 48 hours to schedule a consultation via phone or Zoom—whichever is easiest for you.

You don’t need to know anything about flowers before we chat. That’s my expertise! During our consultation, we’ll talk about your personal style, your vision for the big day, the venue, and anything you don’t want. I’ll ask you to share a Pinterest board if you have one—it helps me see your style and what you’re drawn to.

I’ll help you every step of the way. If you’re unsure how many arrangements you’ll need or what kind of flowers make the most impact, I’ve got you covered.

After our consultation, I’ll send over a detailed proposal and contract for you to review. Once the proposal is approved and payment is received, I’ll place your flower order and begin preparing your custom designs. Leading up to the wedding, I’m always available by email to answer questions, tweak details, or walk you through next steps.

This process is designed to be simple and collaborative—so you can focus on enjoying your engagement and upcoming wedding day.
